We've been encouraging students in Alberta to speak out since we launched in November 2008.  Now, we've hit the national stage!

Although the Speak Out Team works all year round, we'll be taking a break from blogging for July and August.  The Discussion Board, of course, is always open for business, so keep speaking out!  See you back here at the Blog on September 1!  Happy Holidays!

Just wanted to send a big Speak Out shout out to our Grade 12 students who survived the latest round of diploma exams!  Congratulations!!!

Alberta Education recently released changes to the Guide to Education that will apply in the new school year. The changes also apply to charter schools but not private schools.

The changes are required because Section 11.1 of the Alberta Human Rights Act comes into force Sept. 1.

After logging thousands of kilometres across the province and attending hundreds of meetings and events, Alberta’s Cabinet Ministers heard input directly from Albertans on the key issues facing our province.

It's true!  Last year, Speak Out won one Telly award for the videos featuring students (you can still see them on our website).  This year, we can't believe that we won 4!

So, for those of you who are writing these exams, I'm sure this countdown comes as no surprise!! 

So normally, my "Go Green or Go Home" slogan would be followed by some Saskatchewan Roughrider propaganda.  However, in this case, green is all about the environment.  May 30 - June 5 is Environment Week!
